Continuing with AHA’s recent one-on-one discussions with local political leaders, join AHA member Howard Weiss and this month’s special guest Greg Parks, Clerk of Circuit Court for the City of Alexandria.
Greg Parks was elected to this position in November 2019 to an 8-year term. Greg’s focus as Clerk has been to update technology systems and improve customer service. During his time in this position, The Office of the Clerk of Court implemented distribution of gun locks with instruction cards to all individuals who apply for a new or renewed Concealed Carry Permit for a firearm. Greg earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1993 from American University and a Master of Laws degree from George Washington University in 2017. After graduating from law school, he served with the Coast Guard as an attorney, and went on to Federal legal and management positions with the U.S. Dept of Transportation, the General Services Administration, the White House, and as Chief Counsel of the United States Civilian Board of Contract Appeals. An Alexandria resident since 2013, Greg is licensed to practice law in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Alexandria Bar Association and the Arlington/Alexandria Gay Lesbian Alliance (AGLA).
