Roundtable: "The Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) Movement" with Victoria Almquist

AHA member Victoria Almquist will lead this discussion. Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) refers to a practice in which a terminally ill adult has the option to ingest medication prescribed by their doctor to end unbearable suffering and die peacefully in their sleep. This practice is currently authorized in 11 states. While MAID has many monikers (Death with Dignity, End of Life Options Act, etc.), it is factually incorrect to refer to the practice as assisted suicide, suicide, or euthanasia.
