Armchair Travels: Visiting Cambodia with Kate McMahon

Kate McMahon, manager of Ten Thousand Villages in Old Town Alexandria, has been involved with Villages since the summer of 2008. Kate is passionate about fair trade and what she does to help the store on King Street succeed. In 2011 she was blessed to have the opportunity to go on a Learning Tour with Ten Thousand Villages US along with 11 other passionate “Villagers” to Cambodia and Laos to meet with and learn from many of the artisan groups that Ten Thousand Villages works with. This was a life-altering trip!
During this presentation, Kate will share the magic of the Cambodian people as well as their beautiful craftsmanship. Kate saw first hand how much fair trade can truly change the lives of young craftsmen and their families. She is excited to share this with all of you!
